Kao pograni\u010dna jedinica lokalne samouprave, op\u0107ina Podturen grani\u010di na sjeveru sa Republikom Slovenijom, a na sjeveroistoku s Republikom Ma\u0111arskom. Na istoku Op\u0107ina grani\u010di s op\u0107inom Dekanovec, na jugu sa op\u0107inom Belica, na jugozapadu s Gradom \u010cakovcem, na zapadu sa op\u0107inom Vrati\u0161inec i na sjeverozapadu sa Gradom Mursko Sredi\u0161\u0107e.<\/p>\n

Prema popisu stanovni\u0161tva iz 1991. godine Op\u0107ina je imala 4.663 stanovnika. Gusto\u0107a naseljenosti prema tom podatku je 148,39 st\/km2. Podaci popisa 2011. pokazuju pad ukupnog broja stanovnika i prema EU popisnoj metodi broj stalnog stanovni\u0161tva op\u0107ine Podturen iznosi 3.873. U sastav op\u0107ine Podturen ulazi 6 naselja i to Celine, Ferketinec, Miklavec, Novakovec, Podturen i Sivica, a u svakom je formiran i mjesni odbor. Naselje Podturen ima svoja izdvojena gra\u0111evinska podru\u010dja Matekovec i Lon\u010darevo, a naselje Sivica Inkejevicu.<\/p>\n

Geografsko-prometni polo\u017eaj definiran je pograni\u010dnom pozicijom prema Republikama Sloveniji i Ma\u0111arskoj, a glavne prometne pravce \u010dine \u017eupanijske prometnice \u017dC2003 G.P. Bukovje \u2013 Mursko Sredi\u0161\u0107e \u2013 Hodo\u0161an tzv \u00abmurska magistrala\u00bb u pravcu sjeverozapad \u2013 jugoistok paralelno s rijekom Murom i \u017dC2017 u pravcu jugozapada prema gradu \u010cakovcu.<\/p>\n

Podru\u010dje op\u0107ine Podturen dijeli se na dva dijela \u2013 ju\u017eni dio kultiviranog krajolika sa obradivim poljoprivrednim zemlji\u0161tima i gospodraskom \u0161umom Dubrava izme\u0111u Sivice i Podturna te dio Za\u0161ti\u0107enog krajolika rijeke Mure koji se pru\u017ea u pravcu od sjeverozapadnog prema jugoisto\u010dnom dijelu Op\u0107ine.[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.4.8″ custom_padding=”30px||30px||false|false”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.4.8″][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.4.8″]<\/p>\n
