locked=&#8221;off&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Local action group Me\u0111imurski doli i bregi<\/strong> (The Hills and Valleys of Me\u0111imurje) is an association based on the LEADER principles which connects citizens, local government, civil society organisations, private organisations and others organisations in order:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to promote <strong>a sustainable rural development<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>to establish <strong>a partnership between sectors<\/strong> and to connect all development projects on LAG area<\/li>\n<li>to implement <strong>a Local Development Strategy<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">LAG connects representatives of <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: 16px;\">the public, private and civil sector from thirteen municipalities and one city<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"> in the western and central part of the Me\u0111imurje County: Gornji Mihaljevec, Nedeli\u0161\u0107e, Selnica, Strahoninec, St. Juraj na Bregu, St. Martin na Muri, \u0160enkovec, \u0160trigova, Mursko Sredi\u0161\u0107e, Podturen, Doma\u0161inec, Belica, Pribislavec and Mala Subotica.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The association was founded on <strong>October 22nd 2012<\/strong> at the Inaugural Meeting of 31 founders in The Municipality of St. Juraj na Bregu. It had eight member municipalities at first: Gornji Mihaljevec, Nedeli\u0161\u0107e, Selnica, Strahoninec, Sveti Juraj na Bregu, Sveti Martin na Muri, \u0160enkovec and \u0160trigova. In June 2015 LAG area was expanded to the Municipality of Podturen and to the City of Mursko Sredi\u0161\u0107e. The second expansion of the LAG area occured in June 2016 when municipalities of Belica, Doma\u0161inec, Mala Subotica and Pribislavec have joined.<\/p>\n<p>Local Action Group today has an area of 404,72 km\u00b2 and a population of 56 384 living in 91 settlements.<\/p>\n<p>LAG currently has <strong>130 members<\/strong> and the number is growing continuously:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>16% from public sector (local government, schools, kindergartens, tourist boards, environmental organisations)<\/li>\n<li>43% from private sector (family farms, companies)<\/li>\n<li>40% from civil sector (associations)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243;
