Rural Development Programme

The Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) is one of the most important areas of operations of the European Union institutions. Rural Development, as the second pillar of the CAP, is funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

Total allocation for The Rural Development Program 2014-2020 amounts to EUR 2.383 billion, of which EUR 2.026 billion will be financed from the EAFRD and the rest from the national budget of the Republic of Croatia.

On May 26th 2015, after months of consultations, the European Commission approved The Rural Development Program of the Republic of Croatia for the period 2014 – 2020. It is a document defining 16 measures aimed at increasing the competitiveness of Croatian agriculture, forestry and processing industry, as well as improving the living and working conditions in rural areas.
